A  Non-IT Industry Multinational company is looking for the following professionals at their Chennai Office
 
        

Profile of "Procurement Manager"

 

1.     Qualification                  :     Graduate/Post-Grad./MBA/Eng. with specialization in Supply Chain

2.     Age                              :     30 – 35 yrs

3.     Location                        :     Chennai

4. E  Experience                      :     at least 10 years in Global Supply Chain/Procurement Management
                                              with MNCs including managing Factory related operations (own/third  Party preferably in the FMCG Sector

This role The role is meant to support the company's UK, Dubai and Indian businesses and will report to            Group COO based in the UK. The role  The role will be expanded to US and German offices based on performance

The Ke  The key  role is:

·   R  Responsible for entire Supply Chain activities of UK, Dubai  and India

·  V  Vendor development, Cost Re-engineering and New Product Development

·   N  Negotiations including Payment Terms

·   M  Materials planning incl. materials movement & co-ordination on logistics & warehousing

·   In  Inventory Management

·   Im Support procedures & policies etc

·   Ri  Risk Management – Security of Supply, Business interruption and Hedging Key Commodity prices

Job res  Responsibilities include:

·         Implement appropriate sourcing strategies to control the purchased material costs and to assure an adequate source    

of s   of Supply

o        Investigate, and re-engineer where appropriate, all processes and systems within procurement and logistics to deliver the procurement strategy and action plan.

o        Research and evaluate product/commodity areas, including tracking of commodity prices, and make recommendations for standardization and additions to Qualified Products List

o        Drive Cost Re-engineering - Understand, track, and forecast the key cost drivers and market factors for assigned products/commodities.

·         Identification of potential suppliers, qualifications, negotiating commercial terms in the relevant spend areas (eg. Cans, Bottles – Tin/Aluminium/Plastic, Glass Bottles, Soap Noodles, Talc, Aerosol etc.) and assessment to ensure competitiveness, high quality and service levels.

o        Develop and implement an approved supplier list, introducing vendor assessment techniques to measure performance and quality of supply.

o        Open Book accounting - keep data of all Bill of Materials

·         Develop cross-functional teams to understand the business needs and evaluate suppliers to ensure that procurement strategy remains aligned with business objectives

o        Identifying and implementing global/regional opportunities for consolidation

o        Implementing globally applicable KPIs, reporting templates and communication procedures.


·         Provide managerial support to the team, improve performance and customer service

o        Lead monthly and weekly planning meetings and demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes across all product lines.

o        Executing key initiatives such as supplier rationalization, working capital improvement and lead time reduction with the supply base.

o        Manage inventory levels inline with business plan and budgetary targets.

·         Proactively co-ordinate/interface with the Marketing/Technical team for:

o        Product Innovation/New Product Development needs - from concept to delivery and product cost build up.

o        Delivery of Packaging Savings

·         Management of Supply Chain Risks – Continuity of Supply, Commodity Hedging, Business Interruption etc:

o        Ensure visibility of total supply network in terms of nature and location of Inventory and flow of goods, capacities on suppliers and logistics/transportation providers.

o        Perform at periodical intervals, on-site supplier evaluations and screen suppliers to identify high potential disruptors.

o        Comprehensively track and detect the nature of disruption, prioritize them, take necessary actions and prevent recurrence of similar events.

o        Understand the controllable risks within the Supply Chain and manage them accordingly.

o        Design contingency plans to minimize the potential adverse effects of risks that are outside of the business control eg. Enforce Hedging mechanism, as applicable, on key volatile supply chain items.

Other r   Responsibilities include:

·          Document and improve key global Supply Chain(SC) processes and Contract Management operations

·          Gather information about supply markets, analyze and evaluate the impact on sourcing and supplier management strategies.

·         I Interface with IT team/Shared Services team to prioritize key initiatives to support SC improvement plans

·          Be the point of escalation/resolution for procurement related issues internally, and with suppliers

·          Continue to think innovatively in addressing the business needs

·          Responsible for both own and departmental management, development, training and recruitment.

·         Strong analysis and business process capability, Six Sigma / Lean approaches helpful - have a track record in continuous improvement and best practices;

·         Ability to plan, organize and manage multiple, complex projects and changing priorities.

·         Identify challenges, make sound decisions under pressure, and work effectively in a global environment with extended works hours as and when required.

·         Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, with ability to work closely with and influence others (product managers, suppliers as well as line manager, peers and direct reports).

·         Strong leadership and team building capabilities

·         Knowledge of vendor assessment methods and Strong financial and commercial awareness.

·         Profound knowledge of Standard ERP systems

·         Good technical skills, including confident use of MS Office applications (Word, Power-point, Excel)

·         Ability to travel as required
